Valentino Garden

Threshold between the North and South Rooms

Designed for the haute couture fashion designer Valentino, this garden is inspired by the great gardens of the Victorian era. The design is conceived as a series of integrated spaces, separated by minor level changes and strongly framed by vegetated perimeter and threshold conditions. The progression creates a series of intimate gathering and open entertaining spaces. The vegetation is composed of strong architectural plant forms, providing year round evergreen structure and impact. These have been planted together with informal soft planting, which serves to prolong seasonal drama in the garden. Julia was the designer and project architect for Valentino’s Holland Park Residence for Randle Siddeley Associates in collaboration with Alain Bouvier Associates.
